2052
A phenomenon, by definition, is a remarkable thing, event, or situation whose cause or explanation is in question. This is often the result of it being such a rarity. That is what makes it phenomenal. But it is up to us to decide how we want to shape it. There are multiple ways a person can consider something a phenomenon. That is the best part. Everyone is entitled to an opinion. And it is important to line these opinions with something as diverse as a phenomenon. Usually, this terminology is used to describe natural events, like tornadoes, volcanic eruptions, or firestorms. Each are special in their own way. However, there is an even more interesting type of phenomenon that occurs on a completely different scale: one that only occurs every 28 years...
This phenomenon is the solar cycle. More specifically, the solar cycle of the Julian calendar. It occurs because leap years occur every 4 years, so a day is added to the month of February, making it February 29th. There are 7 possible days to start a leap year, making a 28-year sequence. This creates a pattern where every single day lines up perfectly with every corresponding day 28 years later. This creates identical calendars. For example, the year 1996 started with a Monday; the 1st. 28 years later, now in 2024, the first day of this year was also a Monday. And it continues like this for the entire year. For instance, a random day in 1996, September 17th was a Friday. Likewise, September 17th this year is also a Friday. Every day will be like this. This will also be the case in another 28 years from now, in 2052.
Pretty cool right? The fact that not many people know about this makes this an even more remarkable occurrence. But why is it important? Well, no one truly knows how today will look 28 years from now. It's simply impossible to guess how every little thing will look. This is the result of the many technological advancements that have been made over time. This truth is our future is fast-evolving at a pace that we have never seen before. This is a result of the incredible standards to which society has become to expect of the technological adaptations that have now consumed our everyday lives. Some say it is bad for the long-term success of the human society, whilst others say it is beneficial. One thing is for sure, everyone is entitled to an opinion to how they think the future will look.
That is what this website does. It provides an opportunity for people to express their own opinions on how the world will look like, specifically in 2052. Today's date in 1996 looked a lot different than it does now. And the same will be the case in 2052, whether we like it or not. Therefore, it is important for the people of today to be able to share their thoughts of how they think the world will look. Then, when 2052 rolls around, they can reflect on what they predicted and see how their past self's imagined it would be. Additionally, it will give the new generation a look into the minds of the people from the past. In this sense, this website works as a time capsule. People from the past write notes, letters, or messages, and then after a certain amount of time, they are found and acknowledged by people from future generations.
So then how will this work? Well, at the bottom of this page is a button. Once you click this button, you will be directed to a page where you will be asked a series of questions relating to how you think the year 2052 will look. This is a chance for anyone to be creative with their responses and possibly predict the future. These questions will all relate to either AI, Autonomous driving, or cybersecurity in a way. Feel free to explore the other pages for more information before answering the questions. Answers can be as specific as possible.
